Short Biography: Dr. Shaikh Fattah received Ph.D. degree in ECE from Concordia University, Canada and later he was a visiting Postdoc at Princeton University, USA. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from BUET, Bangladesh, where he is a Professor, Department of EEE and was founding Director, Institute of Robotics and Automation. His major research areas are speech/image/video signal processing, biomedical engineering, generative AI, machine/deep learning, robotics and automation. He published 295 international journal/conference papers with 5207 citations and delivered 120+ Keynote/invited talks in many countries. He served as the Chair/Vice-Chair of IEEE Bangladesh chapters: SPS, RAS, EMBS, SSIT, IAS and PES. He was IEEE Bangladesh Section Chair (2015-2016) and Chair of IEEE Region-10 AdHoc on Climate Change Sustainability (2023-24). He served IEEE Smart Village, HAC, TAB/PSPB PPSC, EAB, and SIGHT. He served as General Chair and TPC Chair of many IEEE Conferences, e.g. TENSYMP-2020, 28th ICCIT-2025. He received several awards, e.g. Concordia University’s Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Prize (ENS, 2009), 2007 URSI Canadian Young Scientist Award, Dr. Rashid Gold Medal (M.Sc.), BAS-TWAS Young Scientists Prize (2014), 2016 MGA Achievement Award, 2017 Region-10 HTA Outstanding Volunteer Award and 2018 Region-10 Outstanding Volunteer Award. He served as the Editorial Board Member of IEEE Access and IEEE Potentials and was the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE PES Enews. He has been ranked among the topmost ten researchers in the Scientific Publication Arena of Bangladesh during 2010-2019. He is consistently among the top 2% scientists of the world during 2023-2025 (Stanford/Elsevier). He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of IEB.
Short Biography: Celia Shahnaz, SMIEEE, Fellow IEB, received Ph.D. degree from Concordia University, Canada and is currently a professor at, Department of EEE, BUET, Bangladesh since 2015. She was the winner of Canadian Common Scholarship for pursuing her Ph.D study in Canada and recipient of Bangladesh Academy of Science Gold Medal for her contributions in science and technology. The World Academy of Science (TWAS) members have elected her as a Fellow of TWAS for the advancement of science in developing countries, effective 1 January 2023. Recently, her nomination has been approved and she has been inducted into IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu as a Professional Member into the Eta Chapter of the Board of Governors. She has served as 2023-24, Liaison of WIE to IEEE Board of Directors and 2023-25 Member, IEEE in 2050 and Beyond subcommittee. She has been selected and appointed as 2026 IEEE SSIT Education subcommittee, 2025-27 IEEE Computer society Distinguished Visitor. She has been appointed as 2025-26 Chair, IEEE WIE Nominations and Appoints. She has been elected as 2022 IEEE WIE Committee Chair-Elect and she has served as the 2023-2024 IEEE WIE Committee Chair. She is the recipient of the 2021 IEEE MGA Achievement Award, 2021 Inspiring Women in Academia Award from Bangladesh brand forum, 2019 R10 Humanitarian Activities Outstanding Volunteer Award, 2016 MGA Leadership Award 2015 WIE Inspiring Member Award, 2013 R10 WIE Professional Volunteer Award. She has more than 25 years of experience (25 years as an IEEE volunteer) in leading impactful Technical, Professional, Educational, Industrial, Women Empowerment, Humanitarian Technology, Power and Energy-related Projects at national/international levels.
